There are many different types of bathroom vanities that enhance the décor of the room. Modern and contemporary bathroom vanities come in simple and beautiful designs and finish. Modern day vanity set feature smooth door fronts, chromium steel granite or glass counter tops or open models that do not consist of doors or drawers. In these types of vanities, the internal plumbing is visible. The traditional vanity designs are mostly in wood which are given different patterns, sizes and finish. Commonly used vanity cabinets with sinks are mostly closed models having doors and drawers that hide the plumbing work behind the vanity door. They usually feature elements of sculptures, glass designs and decorative finishes. The counter tops can be of wood, granite, marble or any other firm surface.
Glass - Typically very contemporary in design, glass vanities can add a polished, sophisticated look any bathroom. Glass vanities are usually combined with other materials and can be striking wall-mounted basins or have ample storage underneath.
Freestanding cabinets & pedestal sinks. A pedestal sink is an awesome way for you to save space yet still gain quality style. There are small pedestal sinks that fit well with long rectangular mirrors. If the storage within the mirror isn't enough, there are nicely designed freestanding bathroom furniture for your convenience.
While the double vanity has its own advantage, a modern single bathroom vanity is more a popular choice today because not many people can afford large enough space for required for it. Your bathroom should look spacious and least congested. In fact, a jam-packed bathroom, which looks more like a storeroom with all kinds of furniture dumped in it, is most detrimental to your health. You often feel so suffocating that you often do not spend as much time as you should to stay healthy in here.
Another factor to consider before purchasing your vanity is the location of the pipes. If your pipework is running through the floor this may prevent you from having a wall hung vanity if you don't want the pipes to be visible. Likewise if you have pipes running through the wall be aware that the pipes bent into an 's' shape to fit from the plug hole to the wall and this takes up a lot of space which can affect your storage.
